When I was 24 years old, my life goal was planning the following weekend, and I certainly didn’t have my life together enough to be building a business, but this is precisely what Ellen Bennett set out to do at the age of 24. Working in the food industry and fed up with the quality of aprons available for her to wear, Ellen noticed a need in the market for good quality and lovely fitting aprons. And so her journey began in 2015.
Years later, Ellen Bennett went from being a line-cook to building a multimillion-dollar apron empire called Hedley & Bennett. Ellen came from a Latinx single-parent household and didn’t have experience in design or manufacturing, yet she made Hedley & Bennett into today’s success. Ellen’s colorful aprons have amassed a vast following, including David Chang, Martha Stewart, Jessica Alba, Zoey Deschanel, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and more.
