For the first time in 25 years, Boston-based Partners HealthCare will have a new name: Mass General Brigham.
The largest health system in Massachusetts said the name change will highlight Partners’ renowned Massachusetts General Hospital and Brighman and Women’s Hospital, both in Boston.
The new name, announced Nov. 27, is part of a strategy for the health system to work more cohesively, Mass General Brigham’s president and CEO Anne Klibanski, MD, said in a news release. Under the potentially $100 million rebrand, Mass General and Brigham and Women’s will keep their own names. At this point it’s unclear if the rest of the health system’s hospitals will keep their names.
